THE PHYSICAL, PHYSIOLOGICAL AND EMOTIONAL BASIS OF OSTEOPATHIC DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT.
Founded by experienced practioner Zara Atabaki, Atabaki Osteopathy aims to educate future osteopaths in the methods and science of the physical, physiological and emotional basis of osteopathic diagnosis and treatment. The combination of online learning and practical days enables osteopaths to develop a sound understanding of the holistic approach needed for effective osteopathic treatment.
The course tutor, Zara Atabaki, has run her highly successful clinic since 1992. Her approach has been summed up in the following way by the principal of one of the Osteopathic colleges who she treated:
“Zara graduated in 1992 from the John Wernham College of Osteopathy and has run a successful practice in Ashford since then. She lectures and practises.
As an affiliate of traditional osteopathic approaches having been taught and mentored directly by John Wernham, Zara has a wealth of knowledge and experience and has developed her own subtle unique approach to patient care that she is keen to pass on to the current gneration of osteopaths to ensure her knowledge is not lost.
Her extraordinary gentle approach can not be categorised in the terminology of today’s osteopathy. It is not cranial, functional, structural or visceral. In her own words it is ‘the truth of osteopathy’, where the practitioner’s every contact is to potentiate health in the whole patient so that their own mechanism can flourish.”

A comprehensive learning platform will guide you through all aspects of the course, broken down into manageable chunks.
Each section is complete with video demonstrations and multiple choice tests to check your understanding.
The course aims to enable students to understand the body:
- As one structurally co-related structure
- As a physiologically co-functioning unit
- In relation to the the emotional and unique susceptibility of the patient

Practical days with an expert practitioner and teacher are used to cement your learning. These are scattered throughout the course to ensure learning is effective and well understood.
